Exploring the Canadian Rockies: Banff and Jasper Adventure
Day 1: Arrival in Calgary
We touched down in Calgary just as the sun was setting, eager to begin our adventure in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. After picking up our rental car from Thrifty, we stocked up on groceries for the days ahead and enjoyed a hearty dinner to recharge for the excitement awaiting us.
Day 2: Banff National Park
Rising early, we started our day with a quick breakfast at our accommodation in Canmore before heading to the Travel Alberta Canmore Visitor Center. Here, we gathered information and set off to explore the breathtaking sights of Banff National Park. Our stops included the iconic Lake Louise, the mesmerizing Moraine Lake, and the serene Emerald Lake. We also marveled at Bow Lake, visited the Natural Bridge, and admired Vermilion Lake at sunset before heading back to Canmore for a relaxing evening.
Day 3: Columbia Icefield and Beyond
An early morning start saw us driving to the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre for an exhilarating Glacier Adventure. We ventured onto the Athabasca Glacier and experienced the Skywalk, soaking in the panoramic views. Our journey continued with visits to Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca Falls, Crowfoot Glacier Point, Peyto Lake, and Maligne Lake, each offering its own spectacular scenery and photo opportunities. After a day filled with natural wonders, we returned to Canmore for a well-deserved rest.

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to the Rockies and made our way to Calgary Airport for our early morning flight back to Newark. As we boarded our flight, we carried with us memories of turquoise lakes, towering glaciers, and the majestic Canadian Rockies that will stay with us forever.
